This brilliant contest began with the visitors seemingly in the driving seat. Right-back Lamptey's wondergoal capped a confident first half, as he cut back onto his left in the 37th minute, finding the top-left corner from outside the box with superb composure. Admittedly, the game fell into something of a combative lull, yet the travelling Seagulls looked to come out the other side as substitute Minteh raced onto a hopeful ball and grabbed what felt like the insurance goal in the 79th minute. However, Van Nistelrooy's side just didn't give in. Veteran Vardy stepped up and led the line, slotting into the bottom-right corner in the 86th, before supplying De Cordova-Reid in the 91st minute to restore late parity. Leicester exceeded their 1.27 xG, while Brighton did the same with their 1.52 xG. The Foxes sit 16th in the table, while Brighton are seventh. Travelling Brighton have been in the ascendancy so far, yet, in this game of frenetic pace - Leicester have shown they can operate around just the slimmest opportunity on the counter. Brighton whirred into life as Pedro whizzed a volley past the foot of the left post 14 minutes in, before Estupinan and Ayari fired from range and looked to make the most of the windy conditions to keep Hermansen on his toes. Mitoma fired off target in the 35th minute, yet his effort ended up being a precursor to a wondergoal from Lamptey that opened the scoring two minutes later. Leicester admittedly found it difficult at times to negotiate both the midfield battle, and the wind, however they nearly found a response just before the break. Justin headed on goal from a left-sided cross, yet Verbruggen was agile to tip away to his right at full stretch.
