Leicester City ready to make Steven Gerrard move amid Leeds United interest

Leeds United may need to act fast if they have any interest in Steven Gerrard as their next head coach. The Liverpool legend is among the frontrunners with the bookmakers for the Elland Road hotseat - but the Whites could face competition if they opt for the former Aston Villa and Rangers boss.

The Mail report that Leicester City are ready to offer Gerrard the chance to take over from Dean Smith at the King Power Stadium this summer. The Foxes were relegated to the Championship along with Leeds last month, and will be among their big promotion rivals in the coming campaign.

Both clubs changed manager in the latter stages of the Premier League campaign, with Brendan Rodgers leaving Leicester and Smith taking over for the final months. Leeds, of course, sacked Jesse Marsch in February, but his replacement Javi Gracia was then sacked, with Sam Allardyce failing to keep the Whites up in the final four games.
