Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. last played in MLB in 2010, and despite remaining around the game, it seems the 53-year-old is also progressing with another one of his passions: photography.
Griffey could be spotted along the sideline wielding a camera and his iconic backwards cap ahead of Lionel Messi and Inter Miami’s MLS showdown against Nashville SC on Wednesday night, as the team looks to build upon its unbeaten run since the Argentine joined the club in July.
According to Josh Moser, Griffey is a “still photographer” for Inter Miami’s tilt on Wednesday, and will be snapping photographs on the touchline throughout the evening at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

Griffey has been practicing photography since his retirement from baseball, and he was seen on the sideline at the Fiesta Bowl in 2015 snapping pictures of the game. He’s also posted on his Instagram various other sporting events he’s covered, including the 2023 Home Run Derby, a Monday Night Football game, a professional Indy car race, and more.
Griffey isn’t the only Baseball Hall of Famer who took up photography after a decorated MLB career. Randy Johnson, one of the greatest southpaws of all-time, also practices the craft, posting a wide range of photos to his website.
