Foo Fighters Cancel All Future Gigs Including Their Grammys Appearance After Taylor’s Death

Foo Fighters have cancelled all their upcoming concerts after the tragic death of the band’s drummer Taylor Hawkins.

“It is with great sadness that Foo Fighters confirm the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates in light of the staggering loss of our brother,” the band said in a statement on Tuesday.

“We’re sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned.

“Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together.”

The band was scheduled to play at the Grammy Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday.

They also had spring dates scheduled at the Beale Street Music Festival, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the Boston Calling Music Festival, among a bunch of other places. In summer they were expecting to appear in Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France and the UK.

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins tragically passed away at 50 years old on 25 March.

The band confirmed Hawkins’ death in a statement posted to Instagram and Twitter.

“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” said the post.

“His musical spirit and infectious laughter will love on with all of us forever.

“Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”

No official cause of death has been announced yet. But tributes flowed in from fans, journos and fellow musos.

Foo Fighters were touring in South America at the time of Taylor Hawkin’s death. They were scheduled to do an Australian tour in late 2022.

Hawkins joined Foo Fighters in 1997. The band is made up of lead singer Dave Grohl, guitarists Pat Smear and Chris Shiflett, keyboardist Rami Jaffee and bassist Nate Mendel.

Before joining Foo Fighters Taylor Hawkins was Alanis Morisette‘s tour drummer.
