Leeds United wait on Manchester United's £37m contract decision with Oslo meeting key

Manchester United have a lot of moving parts this summer which will impact on the future of several of their fringe players. The trouble, if you're a club interested in one of those players, is it requires you to play a waiting game.

That's exactly what Leeds United may have to do if they are to land one of their possible targets in Red Devils winger Amad Diallo. The 20-year-old impressed on loan at Sunderland last season and with the knowledge he can certainly handle himself in the Championship a number of sides are keen on his services should Man Utd decide to loan him out once again.

For Leeds, should Jack Harrison depart, Amad would be a welcome addition to the ranks and a creative threat which would go some way to dampening the disappointment of losing Harrison, if that were to be the case. Signed in a £37m deal from Atalanta three years ago, the young midfielder is reaching the stage of his career where Man Utd need to make a serious decision on what comes next.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Amad is set to be given a chance to impress at United's Carrington training complex, with Erik ten Hag facing a big decision on what to do with the young talent. A game against Leeds United in Oslo next month is likely to be a good test for Amad to impress either Ten Hag or the Whites, who are keen on his services.

Should Man Utd opt to try get some of their initial £21m fee back by putting Amad up for sale, that's likely to turn Leeds away from any deal, but another loan move at a top-end Championship team pushing for promotion to the Premier League could be an option for the Red Devils and would certainly suit Leeds.

Amad will return to pre-season training hoping he can catch the eye as he tries to strengthen his hand, but that Oslo game on July 12 could be key to what happens next.
