Arsenal tipped to target £100m former Whites talisman after 'hijacked' deal
Premier League leaders Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up former Leeds United talisman Raphinha after their proposed deal with Shakhtar Donetsk for winger Mykhailo Mudryk was 'hijacked' by Chelsea who have quickly announced his signing.
The Ukrainian signed an eight-and-a-half-year deal which will keep him at Stamford Bridge through to the summer of 2030, but was the main target of Mikel Arteta over the last few months.
However, now they could have their eyes set on the Brazilian winger instead after he's struggled to adjust to life in La Liga, having swapped Elland Road for the Nou Camp in the summer last year.
According to Sport Italia, the Gunners are viewing him as a 'possible alternative' after having interest in him before he made his move to Spain last year.
They believe that Arsenal have sent 'exploratory contacts' last night to 'understand the possible feasibility of the negotiation' in an attempt to bring him back to the Premier League.
Despite leaving Leeds for a reported fee of £50m however, it's believed that the Spanish giants have placed a £100m price tag on Raphinha's head according to Spanish outlet Sport because executives are 'not interested in transferring' despite his rough start with the club.
Leeds United offered chance to sign South Korean World Cup star
Leeds United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign South Korean international and Jeonbuk Hyundai striker Cho Gue-sung.
The 24-year-old scored twice for his country at last month's World Cup and has already attracted attention from both Celtic and Rangers.
According to 90Min, the striker has been offered to numerous clubs including Everton, Southampton and Championship duo West Brom and Burnley.
Given the Whites' announcement of new signing Georginio Rutter over the weekend, it's unlikely they'll be in the market for a new forward although Cho's 17 goals across the K League 1's 2022 season have made him an intriguing prospect.
Eredivisie ace told he would 'suit' Leeds United amid rumoured exit
FC Twente midfielder Ramiz Zerrouki has been told he'd fit perfectly into a club like Leeds United, although was warned that he shouldn't make the move in this window.
The 24-year-old has played 16 times this season for the Eredivisie club but hasn't found the net or provided an assist, with an exit rumoured to be on the cards.
Both former Ajax midfielder Theo Janssen and journalist Jan van Halst believe he could make it in the Premier League but the former isn't sure whether it's the right move for him.
"He is good enough to succeed in England," Van Halst told NOS (via Sport Witness).
"He suits clubs like Leeds United and Southampton. Underdogs who occasionally have a good period and want to fight their way out of the bottom ranks. At such teams, he could be of added value with his footballing ability and tactical insight.
"Then he will end up at a club at the bottom of the table. Or, at best, at a mid-table club," countered Janssen.
"A better team does not sign up at this stage of his career. Of course, he will fit in at Leeds United or Southampton, as Jan says. But he should avoid going after players like Bryan Ruiz and Eljero Elia.
"Financially, it is hugely interesting to play in England. The question is whether it will benefit him sportingly at the moment."
