Leeds United transfer rumours as Whites linked with 'next Paul Pogba'

Here are your Leeds United transfer rumours on Sunday, November 6.

Leeds United looking to sign 'next Paul Pogba' in January

The 'next Paul Pogba' could be one of Leeds United's targets in the January transfer window according to French football outlet Jeunes Footeux.

Marseille midfielder Papa Gueye was used regularly by former manager Jorge Sampaoli last season but has fallen down the pecking order behind the likes of Matteo Guendouzi and Valentin Rongier under Igor Tudor.

The 23-year-old has made eight appearances, but only three starts, for Marseille this season finding one goal, but is experienced for his Senegalese national team with 12 caps in less than a year.

Marseille could look to make a great deal out of his sale, with Gueye originally arriving from Ligue 2 club Le Havre AC for free just two years ago.

That Le Havre academy has spawned the likes of Pogba, Riyad Mahrez and Dimitri Payet and Michael Brunel, their Technical Director, heavily praised the youngster at the time of his departure.

Speaking to The Athletic, he said: "It’s not easy to compare because the comparison is always complicated but I would say, even if the personality was different, Paul Pogba.

"Gueye was very easy with the ball, especially with his left foot. Actually, he has a very good left foot. He is very gifted."

Leeds United now 'certainly not' landing Serie A star in January

After interest from Leeds United during the summer and much discussion as to whether they'd continue their pursuit in January, Empoli left-back Fabiano Parisi's agent has made it clear he won't be leaving the Serie A side mid-season.

Parisi could've been a good replacement for Junior Firpo, who has struggled to find consistent performances at Elland Road due to injuries.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, his agent Mario Giuffredi was clear in his stance over the transfer interest in his client in the January window.

"Parisi? He is one of the most important full-backs in the league.

"We expect him to be called up for the (Italian) national team, and then make the leap next season.

"In January, he will certainly not move. His market will be the summer."
