Leeds United transfer rumours as opening Charles de Ketelaere bid 'prepared' amid Milan battle

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Wednesday, 29 June.

Leeds set to submit de Ketelaere bid

Leeds United are set to submit an opening €30 million offer for Club Brugge attacker Charles de Ketelaere. That is according to RTL journalist Alexandre Braeckman, who claims the bid is set to fall short of Brugge’s €40million valuation.

Leeds have identified de Ketelaere as a key target this summer as they look to strengthen their options in attack. Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Braeckman believes de Ketelaere could become the ‘biggest transfer’ in Belgian football history.

“Leeds is about to submit a first €30m bid, it could be done in the next days, but I can’t tell exactly when.

“Bruges is expecting €40m, they know they could have a huge amount of money for this player. It could easily be the biggest transfer of the Belgian football (currently €27m for Jonathan David, from Gent to Lille).”

AC Milan fight

While Leeds United are preparing their first bid for Charles de Ketelaere, AC Milan are also fighting hard for his signature. That is according to Calcio Mercato, via Inside Futbol, who claim Milan are keen on signing him as well as both Hakim Ziyech and Divock Origi.

Milan will be able to offer de Ketelaere Champions League football next season after winning the Serie A title. However, Leeds are able to match the Italian giants financially and will be hoping the pull of the Premier League allows them to win the race.

Leeds plot permanent McAtee move

Leeds United are lining up a permanent move for Manchester City youngster James McAtee this summer, according to the Daily Express, via Sports Mole. The Whites were keen to include McAtee in a deal that includes Kalvin Phillips moving to the Etihad Stadium, though Leeds are instead set to sign Darko Gyabi.

City are reluctant to lose McAtee permanently but have received interest from several clubs to take him on loan. Brighton and Southampton are also monitoring the situation of McAtee, who starred in City’s PL2 winning campaign last season.
