Jamie Carragher sends 'leave' message to Leeds United Chelsea target
Jamie Carragher has told Leeds United transfer target Christian Pulisic to 'one hundred percent [leave]' Chelsea in January after he was frozen out of the squad under previous manager Thomas Tuchel.
The American joined the Blues in 2019 for a reported fee of £58 million from Borussia Dortmund but has failed to give consistent performances and has also been hampered by injuries.
A Chelsea player in a similar situation to Pulisic was striker Timo Werner who left Stamford Bridge in the summer to return to his former club RB Leipzig and has been tearing up the Bundesliga again.

However, after interest was shown from multiple Premier League clubs in the summer which included Leeds, Pulisic could make a move away from the Blues to try and get his career on the right track again even after being given chances under new boss Graham Potter.
Speaking on CBS Sports on Tuesday night, Carragher was clear in the way he thought Pulisic should approach the upcoming transfer window after interest has been shown.
"One hundred per cent [he should leave]. A lot of footballers are different. I do scratch my head when I see certain players at clubs for a long time and they never really get into the team.
"That’s why I think Thierry [Henry] is saying he respects Timo Werner. Rather than just sitting on the bench another year or two he’s gone back to somewhere where he’s going to play week in, week out.
"I just think Pulisic is sort of at that stage now where there’s been a few managerial changes. It looks like he’s getting more of a chance with Potter, but not just him, I think Graham Potter is a manager who changes it every game so everyone is getting a chance. So he may feel like he’s getting more of an opportunity to prove to the manager he can be in that recognised 11.
"He’s been there a few years now, it hasn’t quite happened for him for whatever reason, and maybe Dortmund is a level down from Chelsea, who are a team who are trying to win the Champions League – we know Pulisic was part of that win.
"Eventually, you have to make that decision. I don’t think you can continue to be in that position that he’s been in for the last two or three years."
Pulisic has 18 months left on his contract, potentially leaving a good price on the table for a club like the Whites, also meaning they could potentially hand a financial loss on their historic rivals by buying him cheap.
Jeff Stelling drops two big names with potential to manage Leeds
Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling has said that Mauricio Pochettino and Rafa Benitez could both become Leeds United's next manager if Jesse Marsch is sacked in the near future.
Marsch is under enormous pressure as his Whites side slipped down into the relegation zone after Sunday's 3-2 loss to Fulham at Elland Road and fans have been calling for him to be sacked.
Despite Pochettino's Paris Saint-Germain being undefeated so far this season and leading Ligue 1, Stelling believes the Argentinian would swap them for a struggling Leeds.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Tuesday night, Stelling was critical of Marsch's management this season and gave two names he thought could save Leeds' season.
"He’s got nine points from 11 games. If you look back at the start of last season, Marcelo Bielsa got 11 points in 11 games and he got the sack. If you looked at those available, Pochettino and Rafa Benitez.”
Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison was on the panel and didn’t think that a manager of Pochettino's standards would be keen on a return to England by going to Leeds.
Morrison replied: "Pochettino ain’t. No disrespect but I don’t think Pochettino wants that."
Stelling then interrupted Morrison, claiming: "They’re a big club."
