David Seaman calls for 'messiah' Marcelo Bielsa to make Elland Road return
Former Leeds United and England goalkeeper David Seaman has said he'd love for Marcelo Bielsa to come back as Whites manager after Jesse Marsch's sacking earlier this week.
The Argentinian, who was Marsch's predecessor in the role, has been listed by the bookies throughout the club's process of finding a replacement manager to try and save their season.
"There’s even talk of the messiah coming back," Seaman said on his Seaman Says Podcast. "Do you know what, the more I think about it, I think so yeah [to wanting him back].
"Not only because of what he did before, but even if we go down, you’d love him to be the manager to bring you back up, wouldn’t you.
"I’m sure it would make a lot of Leeds fans happy if Bielsa came back. But we’ll see."
Late Charlie Cresswell decision sent shivers up Scottish manager's spine
St. Johnstone manager Callum Davidson has revealed how late interest in Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell in the January transfer window had him worried he'd lose one of his own players.
Cresswell has been on loan at Championship club Millwall for the first half of the season but was the subject of much interest as the window began to wind down.
That led Davidson to worry he'd lose his own loanee, Millwall defender Alex Mitchell, if they had to recall him after losing Cresswell.
"My biggest concern was a phone call from supposedly one of my best mates to tell me I was losing Alex," Davidson told The Courier.
"It was a real possibility. So then I phoned another one of my mates, because it was his son Charlie causing all the problems! I thought: These are not very good mates I’ve got, leaving me out to dry like this.
"There might’ve been a bit of swearing going on down the phone. Listen, it was out of my control anyway so there’s not a lot I could’ve done.
"We had a wee laugh when Gaz said it was okay, that Charlie and Alex were both staying put. I think we were both pretty happy at that point.
"But I genuinely thought Alex was going back. I didn’t know the ins and outs of that deal; the biggest thing for me was not wanting to lose Alex because of the number of games he’s played and how well he’s played."
