Klich expected to move on with MLS outfit interested
Mateusz Klich’s five-and-a-half-year story at Leeds United looks to be drawing to a close if reports from MLS Soccer are to be believed.
Klich arrived at Elland Road in June of 2017 from Dutch Eredivisie side FC Twente and has gone on to become a mainstay for The Whites, most prominently under the previous management of Marcelo Bielsa, who viewed Kilch as a vital cog in his complex system.
However, the team has evolved and with Jesse Marsch at the helm, game time for the 41-capped Poland international has become limited, prompting reports that a move away for regular minutes is expected.
The 32-year-old has made 11 appearances so far this season in the Premier League, with all 11 of those coming off of the bench and Klich’s most significant involvement lasting just 31 minutes.
The MLS Soccer report suggests that as things stand, Wayne Rooney’s D.C. United are thought to be leading the race for the 32-year-old’s signature with a move reportedly likely to be completed in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Polish midfielder’s existing deal runs until the summer of 2024, making a move away economical and appealing for any interested parties, although it currently unknown how much the Yorkshire club would demand.

Fresneda links refuse to go away
Real Valladolid talent, Ivan Fresneda, continues to be mentioned as a potential January target for Jesse Marsch’s men, according to a recent report from Spanish outlet AS.
Fresneda, who only turned 18 in September, has been one La Liga’s brightest and biggest breakout stars of the campaign so far, with the Madrid-born right back establishing himself as a first team regular for La Blanquivioletas in recent matches.
The Spanish-youth international has made six appearances so far this term, averaging 78 minutes per appearance, and through his consistent and impressive performances, has attracted attention from some of Europe’s elite.
Naturally Barcelona and Real Madrid have reportedly registered an early interest in the talented teen, but Leeds will have to fend off Premier League rivals for his signature as well, with Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton all thought to be monitoring his situation closely.
