A willing hard worker, the Terriers man is aged just 23 and has spent all of his career so far at the John Smith's Stadium.
Estimated to be valued around the £10m mark, O'Brien has made 50 appearances for Carlos Corberan's team and could provide an extra slice of bit in the middle of midfielder for Jesse Marsch next season.
Noa Lang
22-year-old Noa Lang has been hotly tipped to make a move to the Premier League this summer, with United and West Ham both said to be interested.
A willing tricky winger, the Netherlands international could serve as a valued replacement for the potential departure of Raphinha too.
Brugge are reportedly holding out for €25m after yet another impressive season from the 22-year-old, with European interest from AC Milan also a factor United will have to contend with.
Calvin Ramsay
Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay is also a name that is said to be of keen interest for Leeds and at only 18, serves as player with potential to grow into.
The Scot has been valued at a strong seven figure fee and could now be attracted to test his trade in England's top flight next season.
Luke Ayling is currently the club's first choice option and at 30, the teenager could provide strong back up given the sides strenuous injury record during the 21/22 campaign.
Morgan Gibbs White
Another impressive addition would be Wolves and England Under 21 star Morgan Gibbs White. The midfielder has spent all of last season on loan with Championship side Sheffield United.
Given his tall frame and strong stature, the 22-year-old will be bidding to break into Bruno Lage's plans upon his return to Molineux next season.
But with Marsch said to be a keen fan, it is another potential option the club look to explore given the rumours surrounding the possible departure of Kalvin Phillips.
