Leeds United tipped to sign forward as bookies have their say on summer transfer window

It's Jesse Marsch rebuild season at Leeds United as the American will continue to look to strengthen his side after a disappointing second campaign back in the top flight. So much was promised for Leeds this past season after finishing ninth in their first year back, but the second got off to a poor start which eventually lead to Marcelo Bielsa being dismissed.

Now, after keeping Leeds in the top flight, this will be a crucial summer for Jesse Marsch and Victor Orta as they hope to build a squad - whilst potentially losing a few of their own key players with Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha being linked with moves away.

There are plenty of names on the market and lots who are yet to emerge as the cards begin to fall into place. As with most Premier League clubs, there will be millions to spend, but Leeds' outlay may not reach the £100 million spent in their first Premier League summer two years ago.

As ever, the bookmakers have been offering up prices for a number of players linked with moves this summer and here is a look at the prices for those tipped to join Leeds United.

Takumi Minamino (2/1)

Liverpool attacker Takumi Minamino is reportedly closing in on a move away from Liverpool in a £17 million move with Leeds United strongly linked with the attacker. Minamino has impressed in limited game time for Liverpool finishing as their fifth top goalscorer this past season scoring 10 goals in 24 games.

The Japanese forward has been at Liverpool for two-and-a-half seasons after signing from RB Salzburg - where he played under Jesse Marsch - for £7.25 million in January 2020, during which he also spent the second half of the 2020/2021 campaign on loan at Southampton.

Prior to his Premier League move, the forward spent six seasons with Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga - he also has 39 caps for Japan. The bookmakers clearly think a Jesse Marsch reunion is a possibility.

Morgan Gibbs-White (7/1)

A surprising one considering it's not a name we've heard linked with Leeds in a while, but Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White is somewhat short odds to join this summer.

The 22-year-old is coming off the back of an impressive season in the Championship, scoring 11 league goals in 25 games on loan at Sheffield United. Wolves have slapped a £25 million price tag on him - is that something Leeds would realistically pay? More than Takumi Minamino's price?

Ryan Kent (8/1)

You know the summer window is here when the bookies start linking Ryan Kent to Leeds United again.

After an impressive season at Rangers, where he helped guide the Glasgow club to a Europa League final it could well be the season that the winger makes a move south of the border for a new challenge.

His current side would not command a large fee given the financial constraints of the Scottish league, making any potential signing a cheap one for a player who is one of the stronger links on this list.

He would be competition for Rodrigo, playing on the right wing and cutting onto his left and the club face competitors in the form of Wolves, Everton and Leicester for his signature.

Adama Traore (12/1)

The former Wolves man re-joined former club Barcelona in January and looked to have been a good signing for the Catalan club, but after an electric start his form fell off with old criticisms with regards to his inconsistency coming to the fore.

He is, however, a talented player and can operate all down the right-hand side of the pitch, a position where Leeds - who have previously been linked with the former Middlesbrough man - are thought to be in the market for a new signing.

Spurs were linked with the Spaniard in January and look to be so again, with odds of 3/1 but besides that potential suitors look thin on the ground. Barcelona are the only other name who could sign the Wolves man permanently, but their odds have drifted to 14/1.

Conor Gallagher (14/1)

The 22-year-old midfielder has enjoyed a stellar debut Premier League campaign on loan from Chelsea at Crystal Palace, scoring eight goals from his box-to-box role, after he turned down a loan move to Elland Road.

It remains unclear as to whether Thomas Tuchel will provide him with first-team opportunities next season at Stamford Bridge, meaning that Premier League clubs are likely to swoop for the Blues academy product.

Palace are the favourites to sign the loanee, with odds of 9/4 but there are thought to be a host of Premier League clubs circling for a player who made is England debut in the autumn and is set to have a stellar career at the top of the English game.

Aaron Ramsey (16/1)

One that's come out of nowhere, but Aaron Ramsey is expected to be made available this summer after failing to make an impact at Juventus.

The Italian side loaned him out to Rangers for the second half of last season, where he had his moments, but never really set the world alight - missing the decisive penalty in the Europa League final for Eintracht Frankfurt to go on and win.

Ramsey remains a talented player, but this is not one to out your mortgage on.
