That's why amid a backdrop of uncertainty surrounding which division the club will be playing in next season or who will be the manager, Leeds are exploring their transfer options.
One of the players believed to be on the radar is 23-year-old Italy striker Mateo Retegui. Argentine-born, the Boca Juniors player who is on loan to fellow Argentinian side Tigre, has been linked with Leeds in the past few days.
It is reported that Retegui is also being chased by AC Milan, Inter Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt as well as Leeds, with the striker's stock rising further after Roberto Mancini picked him for the national squad during the recent international break.
