Leeds United supporters look to bigger picture following defeat at Arsenal

Leeds United supporters have called their side's performance 'disappointing' after the Whites were handily beaten 4-1 by league leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.

It was the Gunners who broke through first as Luke Ayling's boot brushing Gabriel Jesus' knee was enough to bring the Brazilian down in the penalty area before he stepped up and converted from the spot.

Former Leeds loan star Ben White was the one to make it 2-0 - he caught the end of Gabriel Martinelli's cross at the back post and fired the ball off the underside of the crossbar and past Meslier to double Arsenal's lead.

Jesus then found his second of the match thanks to a nice piece of footwork from Leandro Trossard, the Belgian twisting and turning in the Leeds box before slotting a cross into the six-yard area for the Brazilian to latch onto.

However, a deflected Rasmus Kristensen effort to make it 3-1 after 75 minutes meant a glimmer of hope appeared for the Whites but Granit Xhaka's header with seven minutes to go secured all three points for the hosts.

The result means that the Whites drop to 17th in the table, behind the likes of Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth after their results this afternoon were enough to put them above the Whites.

Leeds fans took to social media to discuss the result, with some fans hopeful for next week's matches against Forest and Palace while others were disappointed with the result.
