Leeds United supporters give verdict on Jesse Marsch's XI ahead of 'big night' against Man City

Leeds United fans have given their thoughts on Jesse Marsch's starting XI to face Manchester City as they welcome the Citizens to Elland Road in their first Premier League match since the start of the winter break.

The Whites won two of their three friendlies over the World Cup period but now face an incredibly tough test tonight while they look to escape the clutches of the relegation zone.

Illan Meslier continues his duties in between the sticks, while captain Liam Cooper lines up alongside Robin Koch with Rasmus Kristensen and Pascal Struijk either side of the central pair.

Marc Roca and Adam Forshaw sit in midfield, with the latter replacing the suspended Tyler Adams while Sam Greenwood, Brenden Aaronson and Wilfried Gnonto all start behind Rodrigo who occupies the lone striker role.

Crysencio Summerville makes an appearance on the bench alongside Joel Robles, Luke Ayling, Junior Firpo, Diego Llorente, Darko Gyabi, Mateusz Klich, Jack Harrison and Joe Gelhardt.

Many took to social media to discuss the line-up, with many happy with the decisions Marsch has made but others wanted to see Summerville get another start.

@M0hau_: Transition monsters with that front 4

@iGerLynch: Some big choices here. Starting Greenwood and Gnonto. Big night for the two of them.

@Ash_LUFC_: Come on Leeds! Can feel us getting something tonight.

@ThruItAllLUFC: Forshaw replaces Adams as expected, while Greenwood gets a huge nod in midfield. Suspect he’ll start as a 10?

@kizcoyle: Probably as good as we could of hoped, into em!

@team_disabled: best team we could have put out, Man City are not the same as they were last season, We have a genuine chance of getting something from the game.
