Leeds United have issued a statement after reports players were evacuated from a plane in an emergency at Leeds Bradford Airport.
At around 8pm on Sunday, October 9, the plane with Leeds United Players onboard landed at the airport. Soon afterwards, planes were circling the airport as they were not being allowed to land.
According to Leeds Bradford Airport "precautionary emergency procedures" were put in place and nobody was harmed in the incident. An airport spokesman said: "Precautionary emergency procedures were followed yesterday evening at LBA, however nobody was harmed in the incident and the flight landed safely.
"Normal services at LBA resumed quickly." Now, Leeds United have also released a statement saying what happened.
They said: "The plane landed at the airport as expected. A smell of burning was reported.
"The team disembarked the plane and left the airport as normal whilst emergency services took a look at the aircraft."
