Leeds United sent Premier League warning as relegation rivals ready to do the unexpected

Sitting bottom of the Premier League with just 21 points from 32 games, few people if any give Norwich City any chance of staying in the top flight. The Canaries are odds on favourites to be relegated and it's easy to see why with a record that shows just five wins all season.

That figure looks even worse when factoring in Norwich are 12 points behind Leeds United, meaning they need at least four wins from their final six games if they are to catch up with Jessie Marsch's men. Ten points from the last 12 has moved Leeds into a much more comfortable position in the league table and the pressure which was mounting has now eased.

Burnley's 1-1 draw at West Ham has helped that pressure ease further, with the manager-less Clarets still five points behind Leeds if they can win their game in hand, meaning their task of staying up is looking even tougher.

While Norwich's chances look increasingly slim, they're not giving up hope and point to last week's win over Burnley and the spirited 3-2 defeat yesterday at Manchester United as reason to offer hope. While not happy with the result at Manchester United, Norwich boss Dean Smith was delighted with the performance and asked if his side would keep doing all they can to reel in the likes of Leeds and Everton, Smith said:

"That’s what we will do. We can’t change today but we will hopefully carry on with the performance levels and the standards we’ve set (against Man United) and last week against Burnley at home against Newcastle next week."
