Leeds United's Thomas Tuchel distraction hands Marcelo Bielsa rare Premier League advantage

Later this month, Leeds United take on Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in sequence over a six-day period.

The Whites were initially scheduled to play Manchester United, followed by Spurs the following week but have now had their rearranged Premier League encounter with Liverpool sandwiched in between.

This pits Marcelo Bielsa's side against three of the division's strongest teams, in quick succession on the back of an injury crisis.

However, the scenario which has presented itself to Leeds is not as bleak as it may seem.

In particular, the Whites' trip to Anfield may come at the best possible time due to various factors.

While Leeds' fixtures at the end of February are particularly condensed, so are Liverpool's - and to a more notable degree.

Liverpool face the prospect of seven matches across four competitions in the space of three weeks, with Leeds their penultimate fixture in that gruelling run.

Jurgen Klopp's side host Cardiff City in the FA Cup this weekend, before facing Leicester City and Burnley in the Premier League.

Then, it is a trip to Milan in order to compete against Internazionale in the UEFA Champions League knockout rounds before a home tie versus Norwich City three days later.

Following those five games, Leeds will take on the Reds, however the home side's attentions may be partly trained on their Carabao Cup Final four days later versus Chelsea, as opposed to proceedings at Anfield.

This season, Liverpool's best chance at silverware is the League Cup. Ninety minutes stand between Jurgen Klopp and another trophy returning to Merseyside.

Leeds' opponents on February 23 are nine points adrift of league leaders Manchester City, while the prospect of navigating a way past Italian champions Inter is a less-than-appealing one.

Having missed out on a title altogether last season, Klopp's men will be eyeing the Carabao Cup Final as an opportunity to redress the balance.

Facing Leeds United - the Premier League's most energetic and hard-working side - four days before a cup final, does have potential to cause Liverpool problems if they fully exert themselves for those 90 minutes.

Leeds will look to identify any lapses in concentration and exploit any potential complacency, particularly if Klopp fields a slightly weakened starting line-up.

Given the strength of Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea side, Liverpool's fixture against Leeds United could serve as an unwanted distraction for the Reds, especially if Manchester City have surged further ahead in the title race.
