Leeds United's relegation rivals' injury and suspension issues ahead of tense run-in

After another chaotic weekend at the bottom of the Premier League table, Leeds United find themselves out of the bottom three on goal difference in what is set to be an extremely tight run-in.

Just six points separate the bottom nine teams, meaning that every point that every side can scrap for will be vital. As we approach the final third of the season, injuries will no doubt play a part, so here is the latest injury news for each of Leeds United's relegation rivals in the Premier League.

Southampton

Full-backs Juan Larios and Valentino Livramento have been out with long-term injuries for some time, but Southampton will be made to sweat over the fitness of Carlos Alcaraz.

The January signing scored the winning goal against Leicester City on Saturday but injured his knee during the celebration.

Southampton are awaiting scans to understand the severity of the injury, although Ruben Selles says his first impression was that it's not too serious.

Crystal Palace

Palace will be without Cheick Doucoure when they welcome reigning champions Manchester City to Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Doucoure was shown two yellow cards in the space of five minutes for two reckless challenges on Boubacar Kamara and Callum Chambers during Palace's 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa.

Elsewhere, Sam Johnstone is expected to return immediately after the international break, while Palace are carefully easing Nathan Ferguson back to full fitness.

Wolves

Hee-Chan Hwang and Boubacar Traore could be available for selection when Leeds travel to Molineux on March 18, according to Birmingham Live.

Hwang has been out with a hamstring injury since the start of February, and a groin injury has kept Boubacar Traore out of action for over three months.

Diego Costa went down holding his knee and was stretchered off during Wolves' 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. The former Chelsea forward will undergo tests to determine the damage, and severity of the injury.

Hugo Bueno pulled his hamstring at Anfield last week and didn't feature against Spurs. The Spaniard is expected to miss Wolves' upcoming matches against Newcastle United and Leeds United before the international break.

Chiquinho has been out since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury during pre-season in July. He has been named in their Premier League squad and there is a small chance he could return before the end of the season if his recovery continues at this rate.

The same can't be said for Kalajdzic, who was ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing his ACL on his debut for Wolves against Southampton.

West Ham

Vladimir Coufal missed West Ham's 4-0 defeat at Brighton last weekend with a heel injury, but is expected to be available for their European Conference League Round of 16 first leg at AEK Larnaca on Thursday.

Maxwell Cornet is nearing a return to action after over five months on the sidelines with a calf injury. He featured for 45 minutes for the under-21s during their 5-1 defeat to Manchester City on Friday night.

Michail Antonio missed the heavy defeat at Brighton after after sustaining a hamstring issue during their 3-1 defeat against Manchester United in the FA Cup. Thilo Kehrer was also unavailable for the trip to the Amex due to illness.

Nottingham Forest

Moussa Niakhate is gradually being eased back from a long-term thigh injury, and could possibly make a return when Newcastle visit the City Ground on March 17.

Steve Cooper could also be handed a triple injury boost after the international break with Scott McKenna, Dean Henderson, and Taiwo Awoniyi edging closer to a return to action.

However, Willy Boly was ruled out for over three months in mid-February, and Giulian Biancone is out for the season with a serious knee injury.

A hairline fracture of the leg has prevented Omar Richards from playing a single minute since trading Bayern Munich for Forest back in the summer.

It was announced in February that Richards was left out of Forest's Premier League squad after suffering yet another setback in his recovery.

Cheikhou Kouyate suffered a hamstring tear whilst playing for Senegal during the World Cup and he is not expected to return anytime soon.

Everton

Dominic Calvert-Lewin didn't feature in Everton's 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, but Sean Dyche revealed that the forward is 'recovering and getting stronger' in his pre-match press conference.

Vitalii Mykolenko missed the Toffees' trip to the City Ground due to illness. Nathan Patterson has been out since January with a knee injury but completed 90 minutes for the under-21s in a 1-0 defeat against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Dyche has also issued an update on Andros Townsend, who has been out for almost a year with an ACL injury, saying that the winger will need further time to ensure he makes a full recovery.

Bournemouth

Gary O'Neil has revealed that Junior Stanislas is set for an imminent return over four months since he was ruled out due to a knock. The Bournemouth boss issued a positive update, and hinted Stanislas could even be available when Bournemouth welcome Liverpool to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

According to injury expert Ben Dinnery, Bournemouth could see as many as five players return when Liverpool visit Dorset, with Lloyd Kelly, Illia Zabarnyi, Jefferson Lerma, Hamed Traore and Marcus Tavernier all being handed potential return dates for Saturday.
