Tens of millions of pounds continue to stand between Leeds United and RB Leipzig in their tug of war over Jean-Kevin Augustin. That ongoing dispute concerned Tyler Adams, who did not see an easy move between the clubs this summer.
Court of Arbitration for Sport continues to compose its own rulings on the matter with the two parties in disagreement over the striker’s transfer. The Bundesliga outfit feel they are owed an eight-figure fee by the Premier League side because of their promotion to the top flight in the same season Augustin was loaned there.
Leeds disagree and that is why the matter was taken to Lausanne. While business has since been done between Red Bull’s Salzburg branch and Elland Road, Adams had reservations Leipzig would trade again with the Whites.

Thankfully, he was pleasantly surprised with what happened. He said: “We always knew it would be a little bit difficult to come to Leeds just because of the relationship between Leeds and Leipzig of course, but my goal was to come here as soon as I heard they were interested.”
Brenden Aaronson is an international team-mate of Adams’s, while his long-term relationship with Jesse Marsch has been widely documented. It made the switch to Elland Road a very easy decision and one he was keen to push through at the start of this month.
“I was super keen on coming here, getting to play with guys I’m familiar with, friends with, Jesse I’ve worked with, just being fully committed to this club,” he said. “When I found out we were getting closer and closer, we flew over yesterday (July 5), it seemed so far away still because until you sign on that dotted line, nothing seems real.”
