Leeds United's best and worst-case relegation fight scenarios in the Premier League this weekend

Leeds United travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Saturday looking to steer themselves further away from the relegation zone. Junior Firpo's 77th-minute strike earned Javi Gracia a 1-0 win on his Leeds debut, and helped them climb out of the bottom three.

They also ended their 10-match winless run in the Premier League, and will come up against a Chelsea side, who have collected just two wins from their last 15 league games.

With another important weekend in terms of the relegation battle now upon us, LeedsLive take a look at the best and worst-case scenarios for the Whites.

Best case

A win for Leeds over Chelsea could send them four points clear of the relegation zone if Everton and Bournemouth both lose over the weekend. Bournemouth travel to league leaders Arsenal, while Everton face off against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday afternoon.

Leeds are just one point clear of the bottom three heading into the weekend, but will be keen on compounding Chelsea's misery under Graham Potter.

Chelsea have collected just two wins from their last 15 Premier League games, while Leeds won the reverse fixture 3-0 at Elland Road in August during Thomas Tuchel's final weeks at the helm.

Worst case

Leeds could still find themselves back in the relegation zone by the end of the weekend. A defeat against Chelsea would present Everton and Bournemouth with the opportunity to leapfrog them with a victory in their respective games.

Southampton could also close the gap behind Leeds to one point with a win over Leicester City in Saturday's late kick-off. Leeds will also be wary of the results of West Ham, Wolves and Leicester, as they aim to keep tabs on the teams directly above them in the table.

If Leicester, Wolves, West Ham, and Everton or Bournemouth record wins over the weekend then Leeds will be two points adrift of safety.
