Leeds United gave themselves a chance to go into the final day of the season with their Premier League fate in their own hands after Pascal Struijk's stoppage time equaliser against Brighton last weekend. The Whites will discover if that will be the case after Burnley play their game in hand on Thursday evening, as the goal meant they edged a point ahead of the Clarets and into 17th place.
Former Leeds striker, Michael Bridges suggested that the point could be 'invaluable' for Leeds in their battle for survival battle. Speaking to GegenPod, he said:
"That point was invaluable. They're sitting in the relegation spot until the 92nd minute, Struijk with the goal. I've got to give Joe Gelhardt [praise] - the work that he did, flicking the ball over the Brighton defender [Lewis Dunk] - it was just a massive moment. And the celebrations, that point could be so vital.

"I know that both Burnley and Everton have a game in hand but you've got to win those matches. When you're at the bottom, nothing comes easy. Everton have got Crystal Palace and Burnley have got Aston Villa. So I'm an Aston Villa fan this weekend definitely.
"That point was huge. The way Elland Road erupted, they knew as well. It's still not over, there's a lot to be done between now and the end and it's going to be fascinating to see what goes on. Leeds have got to play Brentford and I've got to say, this is a team I've admired watching. Thomas Frank and his boys, what they did, yet again, against Everton to come back. Yes, against ten men but they found a way."
If Burnley get a draw at Villa, Leeds will have to better Burnley on the final day, rather than being able to match them. Bridges felt that if Leeds needed a result at Brentford that it would be 'very tough' for the Whites and suggested that a former Leeds player would be part of the reason for that.
"It can't be [a tie on points] because the goal difference for Leeds is shocking. If anybody's gonna get this team [Brentford] up, it's [Pontus] Jansson. He used to be at Leeds, he's an absolute crackpot. He's still absolutely seething from the way he was let go."
