Leeds United (4-1-2-3)
22 Joel Robles
Clearly up against it with the penalties. Came and claimed a lot of balls with authority, but a couple of odd decisions when he exited his box. Brought calmness at points. 6
2 Luke Ayling (c)
Right place, right time for what was another massive goal in his Leeds career. Was generally very solid and competed well with Alexander Isak and Joe Willock on his flank. 7
25 Rasmus Kristensen
Steady and solid, but passing still leaves so much to be desired. 6

39 Max Wober
Can look clumsy and awkward with his execution, see the first penalty conceded, but generally effective in getting the ball out of harm's way. 6
3 Junior Firpo
Lack of composure really hurt the team. Too many rash tackles and could have walked for his flyer on Bruno Guimaraes with a different referee. Has to have more control as he's falling back on the handball. Rightly sent off after so many offences. 3
5 Robin Koch
Some raised eyebrows when he was named in midfield, but did not do himself a disservice in any way. Mopped up danger and brought important presence in the air for second balls. 6
28 Weston McKennie
Another afternoon you're left struggling to see what he brings beyond a long throw. Some strong tackles which helped the team out, but not enough consistency with or without the ball in the engine room. 5
42 Sam Greenwood
Struggled. A few rushes of blood to the head. 5
19 Rodrigo
Chased everything down and carried Elland Road's expectations on his back. Fought for every ball and while he did not always have the right answers in the final third, he didn't let anyone down. 6
9 Patrick Bamford
Quality role in the opening goal, but that penalty miss could sting badly come the end of the season. Did not let his head drop a great deal to his credit, but it's clearly not happening for the number nine. 4
11 Jack Harrison
Played a big part in the opening goal, but faded after that and did not hurt Newcastle a huge amount. 5
Substitutes
1 Illan Meslier
4 Adam Forshaw (on for Greenwood h/t)
Didn't see a huge amount from him as Newcastle tried to pen the hosts in. Some composure and solid tackles towards the end. 6
7 Brenden Aaronson (on for Rodrigo 87min)
Late burst of energy. N/A
8 Marc Roca
10 Crysencio Summerville
21 Pascal Struijk (on for Bamford 90+2min)
On after the late red card. N/A
24 Georginio Rutter
29 Wilfried Gnonto (on for Harrison 64min)
Didn't really get a chance to have a run at the defenders or cause chaos. 5
63 Archie Gray
