Marsch makes USMNT management claim
Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch believes it would be "fun" to manage the current USA national team after the Stars and Stripes progressed into the knockout stages of the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
Marsch had previously spent time in the national team coaching set-up, becoming assistant to former college and club coach Bob Bradley upon retirement in 2010. Since then, however, the 49-year-old has exclusively enjoyed a managerial career in club football.
The current American outfit have won plaudits following a strong run of performances in Group B, including a 0-0 draw against England in which they enjoyed the better of the game. And Marsch told the Men in Blazers podcast of his admiration for the attributes within Gregg Berhalter's side.

"They're young, they're athletic, they can play with intensity. There's obviously differences, but in general, it's a fun team. It'd be a fun team to coach you know,” Marsch said.
“When I say these things, everybody thinks I'm positioning myself but it's just like looking at it from a perspective of a coach. You could see how fun it would be to work with these young, talented, aggressive, fearless players every day."
Ex-Whites attacker delivers bold Senegal statement
Senegal will fear none of the England players they face in the last 16 of the World Cup, according to former Leeds United, Liverpool and Bolton striker El Hadji Diouf.
The 41 year-old has an advisory and ambassadorial role with Senegal, having been a member of the squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 2002 World Cup.
While England will be the favourites, Diouf - who spent 12 years playing in the United Kingdom, also taking in spells at Sunderland, Blackburn, Rangers and Doncaster - insists Senegal will fancy their chances.
"Definitely no one," he replied when asked which England players will be feared. "We have good players, they have good players and on the pitch it is 11 v 11 and you are fighting for your country.
"We are not here to say we are going to win the World Cup but we want to show the world we have the best goalkeeper in Edouard Mendy, one of the best defenders (Kalidou Koulibaly) and the best young players coming up. Of course, all the time in my life I wanted to play against England but it never happened.

Leeds set for major injury boost ahead of Premier League return
Four injury boosts are set to welcome Leeds United back to Premier League action at the end of the month. The Whites concluded the first part of the campaign with a tight, but painful loss to Tottenham Hotspur, where there were several absentees in Jesse Marsch’s squad.
Based on the typically helpful injury updates Marsch gave the media before that trip to the capital, Leeds should see a quadruplet come back into the reckoning for Manchester City’s visit on December 28.
Depending on who does and does not come through this mini-pre-season unscathed, Luis Sinisterra and Stuart Dallas might be the only remaining names on the sidelines.
Adam Forshaw has been pictured in training at Thorp Arch this week and was supposedly in a position to contend had the Spurs match been three days later. Marsch said: “Adam has been training hard, and if the Tottenham match was three days later, we would consider him eligible, but it at least means he should be ready when we get back after the World Cup.”
Jack Harrison travelled with to Tottenham, but was not named in the matchday squad. Marsch said: “Jack is a little bit questionable with a muscle strain, but we're hopeful in the next 24 hours, he can recover and be available for tomorrow.”
