Ex-England manager Sam Allardyce highlights Leeds issue amid relegation debate
Former England and Premier League manager Sam Allardyce has said that while he believes Leeds United will stay up, they must sort out their goal-scoring form soon.
After manager Jesse Marsch bolstered his side's attack by signing Georginio Rutter in the January transfer window, the Whites should be locked in for a much more consistent showing in front of goal over the second half of the season.
However, the former England boss believes that Rutter and his teammates must start scoring goals quickly in order to have the best chance of staying up.
"I think so [they’ll stay up]," Allardyce said on his No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast. "One of their problems has been getting the ball in the back of the net. They have created but not been able finish.
"Leeds seem to create the chances but do not have the right guy to put the ball in the net."

Manchester United great Roy Keane has claimed that the fixture congestion his former side faces ahead of their Carabao Cup final will not have any impact on the Red Devils, as they take on Leeds United twice in the space of four days this month.
Leeds were initially due to play Man United at Old Trafford back in September, but the game was postponed due to The Queen's death. With both sides winning their respective FA Cup fourth round matches last month - and therefore avoiding replays - the re-arranged date was finally confirmed for February 8.
But just four days later, the Whites will welcome Erik ten Hag's side back to Elland Road in the reverse fixture on February 12. Man United have a hectic schedule this month that includes a two-legged Europa League play-off match vs Barcelona and their Carabao Cup final vs Newcastle - on top of both Leeds games - with two more matches against Crystal Palace and Leicester City to contend with as well.
Jack Harrison reportedly 'set to sign' new Leeds United contract after aborted Leicester medical
Jack Harrison is on the verge of agreeing a new deal with Leeds United, despite undergoing a medical with Leicester City on transfer deadline day, according to reports.
Harrison was heavily linked with a move away from Elland Road on January 31 and now it seems that he was just hours away from joining Leicester on Tuesday. According to Sky Sports' Rob Dorsett, the attacking midfielder was halfway through a medical with the Foxes ahead of a potential move to the King Power Stadium when the Whites decided to pull the plug on the deal.
It is claimed that Leeds had a last-minute change of heart over letting Harrison join a relegation rival and decided to match Leicester's wage offer - a move that prompted the former New York City man to return to Elland Road. With just 18 months left on his contract, it appears that the club were - albeit briefly - willing to cash in on the 26-year-old.
