Leeds United news as Crysencio Summerville outlines 'big Elland Road dreams' amid Raphinha mindset

Here are your Leeds United morning headlines on Thursday, April 20.

Crysencio Summerville outlines 'big Elland Road dreams' amid Raphinha mindset

Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville has revealed that he has 'big plans' for his career at Elland Road and admits that he's trying to follow in the footsteps of ex-Whites star Raphinha.

The 21-year-old, who has found four goals and two assists from his 23 league appearances this season, has already adjusted to life in England having joined the Whites under Marcelo Bielsa three years ago.

And while he admits that his exit from Feyenoord was less than mutual, he's learnt to love the fact that he plays for Leeds and admits that he's ready to become one of the side's biggest names.

“I absolutely did not demand a place [in the Feyenoord first team]. I didn’t want an absurd salary," Summerville explained to Dutch outlet Algemeen Dagblad. "And then you get to the point where the club wants to sell you. Of course, it still hurts at times. I played (at Feyenoord) from the age of six. Maybe I’ll [return and] play there someday.

"I looked at Raphinha and I thought; ‘That will be your podium, Cry’. You reach a similar level in training, but it’s about the games. Raphinha forced a transfer to Barcelona, is with the Brazilian national team. I now see what you can achieve as your level rises.

"I saw how big players at Leeds always give everything. Always. I thought; ‘I have to think like that’. I have big plans, I dream big. When I signed for Leeds, I said to my dad; ‘I’m going to be a player who makes people want to come to the stadium’.

"I’m not there yet. Certainly not. But maybe I’m on my way."

Pundit apologies for foul-mouthed Leeds United rant live on air after Liverpool defeat

Former Premier League footballer and Norwegian television pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft has apologised for his foul-mouthed rant on live TV after Leeds United lost 6-1 to Liverpool on Monday night. The 56-year-old, who played for Swindon Town, Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley in the mid-to-late 1990's, is a Whites fan and has been since the age of eight.

But Fjortoft was angered by what he saw earlier this week, with Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez all providing goals for Jurgen Klopp's side.

At halftime, Fjortoft was furious with the display the players had put on in the first half, and called them out for being 'toothless' alongside Elland Road alumni Eirik Bakke.

Key Leeds United chiefs observation made as Javi Gracia sent 'in trouble' warning

Former Premier League midfielder and EPSN pundit Don Hutchison has highlighted the Leeds United's owners' 'embarrassed and shocked' reactions to their 6-1 defeat to Liverpool.

The trio of Andrea Radrizzani, Angus Kinnear and Victor Orta were all in attendance to see their Whites ship six goals to Jurgen Klopp's side who dismantled Javi Gracia's men.

Goals from Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez meant that Luis Sinisterra's goal two minutes after halftime was simply an afterthought for those at Elland Road on Monday night.
