Leeds United pay tribute as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passes away age 96
Leeds United have paid their tributes after the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The country’s longest reigning monarch died Thursday at the age of 96.
The country is now set to go into days of mourning after Elizabeth’s reign of 70 years on the throne.
Journalist 'would be stunned' if Leeds sign left-back before January
Journalist Graham Smyth, Chief Football Writer for the Yorkshire Evening Post, has claimed it'd be 'stunning' if Leeds do sign a left-back before the start of the January transfer window.
Come January, Jesse Marsch may return to the market to sign a left-back, but that is likely to depend on current left-back Junior Firpo’s performances and the injury situation at that point.
Talking to a fan in a Q&A on the Yorkshire Evening Post, Smyth was asked if it was likely Marsch and Victor Orta would dip into the market before the window for a left-back.
“I would be stunned if they dipped into the free agent market for any signing. It just doesn’t feel like the kind of thing Leeds do. They had quite specific plans going into the summer transfer window, for each position, and had there been someone available on a free it would have happened long before now.
“If you’re fishing in that pond it suggests something has likely gone awry and while I believe they are a little light in that position, Marsch and Orta are content with what they have at left-back, in Junior Firpo, Pascal Struijk and Leo Hjelde.”
Joe Gelhardt details his Leeds United learning curve under Marcelo Bielsa and Jesse Marsch
Leeds United forward Joe Gelhardt has compared his time under current Whites boss Jesse Marsch and his predecessor Marcelo Bielsa as he discussed their coaching styles.
Marsch took over from Bielsa in February last year after the Argentinian manager left the club following four years in charge and was able to keep the Yorkshire club in the Premier League.
Speaking with BBC Radio West Yorkshire, Gelhardt spoke about how both managers helped to better his ability and the similarities in how it was working under both of them.
