Here are your morning Leeds United headlines on Sunday, June 4.
Sam Allardyce wanted 'upstairs role' as Carlos Carvalhal emerges as new name in Leeds United manager hunt
Sam Allardyce wanted to remain in an 'upstairs role' at Leeds United before his departure was announced earlier this week after a four game spell as manager.
That's according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, who wrote on his Patreon page that 'Big Sam' was keen to carry on at Elland Road as either a 'general manager' or as a 'director of football'.
The same report also claims the Whites are considering former Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal, alongside West Brom boss Carlos Corberan, in their hunt for a new manager.
Carvalhal is currently the manager of La Liga side Celta Vigo following a successful return to Portugal, where he guided Rio Ave to European football and won the Portuguese Cup with Braga.

Gaetano Berardi backs Leeds United to make immediate Premier League return
Leeds United hero Gaetano Berardi has backed his old club to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt. The Whites' three-year stay in the top flight came to an end last weekend as a wretched campaign saw them slip back into the Championship.
"I think yes," said the 34-year-old, when asked in an interview with BBC Radio Leeds whether his old club can bounce back at the first attempt. "I think they still have the strength, the power to come back, to come back to the Premier League.
"I don't know exactly what happened last season. Of course it was not easy, it was not easy for the team, it was not easy for the club and of course for the fans.
"But I am sure they will programme the Championship in the best way possible to come back and to push for promotion and this is of course what we all want."

Leeds United told where they went wrong with Sam Allardyce appointment
Sam Allardyce was not given enough time to turn Leeds United's season around and avoid relegation. That is the view of former Whites striker Michael Bridges, who feels the ex-England manager would likely have had a greater impact had he been appointed instead of Javi Gracia in February.
Bridges told the GegenPod Football Podcast: "I think if he had been given the time when Javi Gracia came in, I think if Sam would have had that kind of timeframe, we might have seen a different side of it. Victor Orta wanted to go with the pressing style that we witnessed at Leeds United under Bielsa, obviously Jesse Marsch came in with the Leipzig press, Gracia tried that and then they went a bit more defensive.
"I just feel the atmosphere at the time from what you hear behind the scenes, they didn't captivate the players at that time whereas when Sam came in, he did. He got the place buzzing again, he got smiles on faces, people wanting to come in and train once again.
"I just think it was a little bit too short. If he had have got the time, I think the firefighter Sam would have done a job. It was just too short notice unfortunately."
