Leeds United must improve 'game management' as consequences of high-energy style outlined

Danny Higginbotham has warned Leeds United that they must improve their 'game management' to avoid conceding as many goals as they have been during the second half.

Leeds have conceded 16 second half goals in the Premier League this term, including six over the course of their last four league games.

The Whites sit just two points above the relegation zone prior to Friday night's game under the lights at Villa Park against Unai Emery's Aston Villa.

They have failed to win any of their last four league games, and their winless run extends to six across all competitions. Former Southampton and Stoke full-back Higginbotham insists Jesse Marsch's must learn to approach games in a more controlled manner.

"They have to have better game management. If you look at how many goals they've conceded recently in the second half, it's a lot," Higginbotham told NBC Sports.

"And they are 100 miles an hour all of the game. They have to know when just to take a little bit of a step back and maybe soak up some pressure, have the breather.

"At the moment, it seems to be that teams are actually waiting for Leeds to blow themselves out and then get on top of them."
