Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw gives assessment on Whites season so far

Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has given his thoughts on how the 2022/23 Premier League campaign has started for the Whites.

Leeds have made a good start to the season having taken eight points from their first six games but could be set to slide down the Premier League table after suffering back-to-back postponements related to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Forshaw arrived at Elland Road from Middlesbrough in 2018 under Danish manager Thomas Christiansen and has made three substitute appearances so far this season, including 29 minutes in the 3-0 win against Chelsea.

Talking on the BBC Radio 5Live's Football Daily show, Forshaw gave his assessment on how the Whites' season has gone, harking back to both the early highs and lows of the campaign.

"We started like an absolute house on fire. Obviously the Chelsea game made us think 'Here we go!', gave us some real belief by beating one of the top six.

"That positivity was filtered down from Jesse [Marsch], he's such a positive guy but then we had a bad week just before the break in games.

"We only got a point from three, we played Brighton away, Everton at home and then Brentford away.

"Listen - there's no easy games at all but going into that full of confidence, it was a disappointing week for us. Conceding five away in that last one obviously wasn't what we wanted to do but we've learnt a lot from it and have a chance to rectify it."
