Leeds United latest relegation supercomputer prediction after Everton defeat

The next few weeks will go a long way to deciding the relegation battle at the bottom end of the Premier League.

At the moment, Leeds United are in a comfortable position with six points separating them from the drop zone but that could change drastically.

Marcelo Bielsa's side were beaten 3-0 at Everton on the weekend, stretching their winless run to three matches after losing against Newcastle United and drawing 3-3 at Aston Villa.

The Whites' last victory came in that five-goal thriller at West Ham United, as Jack Harrison's hat-trick earned his team all three points in the capital.

However, Newcastle United's and Norwich City's recent upturn in form has tightened the gap and Leeds might be looking over their shoulder if results go against them.

With Bielsa's men set to face Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur within the space of six days, the Whites could easily be dragged into the relegation dogfight.

As per FiveThirtyEight's latest supercomputer prediction, the Whites have just a 15% chance of going down based on all the probabilities that have been analysed.

Owned by ABC News, the American website started out by analysing politics but branched out into sports including the English Premier League.

Calculating the outcome of each match based on historic data, the forecasts have calculated Leeds will collect a further 16 points to finish on a total of 39.

Burnley, Watford and Norwich are the predicted bottom three, with points totals of 33, 29, and 28 respectively.

They have tipped Leeds to finish in 16th, with Newcastle United, Everton and Brentford all surviving the drop.

This would be a seven-place drop from last season's impressive top half finish but some Leeds supporters will be pleased to stay in the division given their injury issues.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are forecast to retain the Premier League title with a tally of 92 points, with Arsenal joining Chelsea and Liverpool in the Champions League spots.

Leeds will be looking to return to winning ways when they host the Red Devils on Sunday afternoon.
