Leeds United have issued a lifetime ban to the supporter who evaded security and shoved Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe at Elland Road. The Magpies boss was confronted by an angry fan in the closing stages of the 2-2 draw in ugly scenes.
Newcastle were waiting to take a dangerous free-kick after Junior Firpo tripped Anthony Gordon and received a red card. Before the set piece was taken, the fan leaped the advertising boards and made his way to confront Howe on the touchline.
Questions have been asked as to how the supporter was able to make his way to the Newcastle technical area. There was also concern given it was Newcastle staff who intercepted the invader, rather than nearby stadium staff.

In a statement on Saturday evening, Leeds United said: "Leeds United can confirm that following an incident at our Premier League game against Newcastle United today an arrest has been made, and a lifetime ban has also been issued.
The pitch intruder was dragged away to cheers by the Elland Road faithful and will now be paying for his reckless actions for the rest of his life.
Howe was asked about the incident at full-time and insisted 'no one should have to face' that type of intrusion in football. "I can't remember if he pushed me. It was such a strange thing. He confronted me and said something I can't repeat," he said.
"Moments like that do make you think. The safety of staff and players is paramount and we need to be mindful.
I don't know if I had time to be fearful because it was over in a flash but it makes you think. No one should have to face that playing a sport they love and trying to entertain the country."
