Here are the latest Leeds United evening headlines for Wednesday, June 15.
Phillips ‘squad player’ at Man City
Ex-Leeds full-back Danny Mills has said that Kalvin Phillips would be no more than a ‘squad player’ if he were to move to Manchester City this summer.
The Premier League champions have been heavily linked with a move for the midfielder - who they see as a successor to the departing Fernandinho - but reports suggesting a bid are off the mark.
“He doesn’t walk into their team. If he goes there and you pick your best 11, he doesn’t get into it – he would be in the top 13 or 14. I think he would be a squad player.” Mills told TalkSPORT .

Phillips had a night to forget on Tuesday as he featured in England’s 4-0 defeat at home to Hungary, losing possession in the build up which lead to the second goal.
Bielsa appointment four years on
June 15, 2022 marks four years since Leeds appointed Marcelo Bielsa as head coach and fans have been reminiscing about an unforgettable ride under ‘El Loco’.
The Argentinian’s influence was visible from the very first game - a 3-1 at home to Stoke - with Leeds playing football not seen at Elland Road for years. More importantly, how he and his players brought the city together was unfathomable at the beginning.
Premier League promotion at the second time of asking and a ninth-place finish upon their return cemented the manager’s legendary status alongside Don Revie and Howard Wilkinson, but a litany of injuries and slump in form led to his unfortunate departure in February.
Bielsa will always remain a legend at Leeds as the man who took the club back to where it belongs and did so with such humility.
Whites ‘exploring’ RB Leipzig man
If Phillips does move to Man City this summer then the club may look to bring in RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams as his immediate replacement.
The 23-year-old looks set to leave the Bundesliga club this summer after falling behind the likes of Konrad Laimer and Amadou Haidara in the pecking order, and a reunion with Jesse Marsch - who gave Adams his debut for New York Red Bulls in 2015 - could happen, with Leeds 'exploring this possibility’ according to Fabrizio Romano.
“My feeling is yes, he is going to leave the club this summer.” Romano told the Que Golazo Podcast “At the moment there is still nothing agreed with any club, but many clubs are exploring this possibility, including Leeds, but at the moment still nothing agreed.
The Athletic also reported that the Leipzig man had been ‘connected’ with the Whites already this summer as he assessed his options.
