Jesse Marsch has admitted it would be 'an honour to represent his country' but insists that he prefers the 'demanding' nature of club football.
Marsch is one of the most high-profile managers to emerge from the United States in recent years, and previously served as assistant coach of the national team between February 2010 and July 2011.
Although the Leeds United boss says it is a 'phenomenal' feeling to take your country to a World Cup, the American has no intention of leaving Leeds or club football in the near future.

"I like the rhythm of club football. It's more demanding. I was an assistant on the US national team and it was a great job for me as a young man, trying to develop a way of doing this job.
"It's always an honour to represent your country. Going to the World Cup and representing your country is absolutely phenomenal. I love it here, I am only thinking about the job here, and only thinking about making our team better at the moment."
Gregg Berhalter's contract as manager of the United States expired on New Year's Day, and there is uncertainty whether that deal will be extended.
USA reached the Round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after finishing runners-up behind England, and above Iran and Wales respectively in Group B.
However, they were condemned to a 3-1 defeat against the Netherlands in the knockout stages. Since the tournament, Berhalter has been involved in a full-blown scandal, after details emerged of a physical confrontation between Berhalter and his now-wife Rosalind in 1991.
