Harry Kane's late first-half penalty was to be the decisive goal as Burnley lost at Tottenham in Sunday's early kick-off, as Leeds United were handed a pre-match boost ahead of their Elland Road clash against Brighton.
The Clarets, who sit merely above Leeds in the table on goal difference ahead of the Whites' clash against the Seagulls, remain on 34 points as the Premier League's relegation race looks set to head to the final day. United, who took to the pitch shortly after the final whistle at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, will be bidding to climb out of the bottom three if they avoid defeat, thus aiming to end their three-match unbeaten run.

The Whites have made three changes for Sunday's visit of Brighton, with Jesse Marsch opting to start young forward Joe Gelhardt in attack. Spurs victory in the day's early kick-off will provide a much-needed boost around Elland Road too, with Burnley offering very little in terms of resistance throughout the 90 minutes.
Ashley Barnes hit the post in the 62nd minute as Mike Jackson's side scrambled for a late equaliser, but it was to be the Lilywhites who emerged victorious. Antonio Conte have since climbed to fourth in the table, but with rivals Arsenal yet to play on Matchday 37, a tricky test against Newcastle United lays in waiting for the Gunners.
As for Leeds, they know the importance their clash holds following Burnley's slip-up, both team bid to remain in the division. The Clarets have both Aston Villa and the Magpies to come, with United heading to the capital to face Brentford on the final day of the 21/22 campaign.
