Fans have flocked to support Leeds United’s push to break Premier League 2’s attendance record next week with almost 12,000 tickets sold and another stand being forced open. Everton had more than 17,000 inside Goodison Park when they lifted the Premier League 2 Division One title in May 2017 against Liverpool.
The Whites hope to get close, if not beat, that total when Manchester City visit Elland Road in the final home match of the season next Friday. After making free tickets available for season-ticket holders and members, they have now been on general sale for several days and as of Friday afternoon, the total was approaching 12,000.
There is still a full week to find another 5,000-plus sales and United have now opened up the Don Revie Stand to accommodate the massing crowd looking to get into Elland Road next week. The John Charles Stand and lower tier of the Jack Charlton Stand are already open, but the club have said they are ready open the Norman Hunter Stand or other areas of the stadium if demand keeps growing.
Tickets can be bought here at £6 for adults and £3 for concessions.
