Leeds United captain Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips turn up at greengrocer's funeral

Leeds United captain Liam Cooper turned up at the funeral of a Yorkshire greengrocer today alongside outgoing Whites star Kalvin Phillips.

As reported by HullLive, Kalvin Phillips had come to pay his respects alongside Leeds captain Liam Cooper.

The sudden and unexpected death of Chris Coyle on June 11 left a gaping hole in a family known throughout the city.

Chris' sons are all active and well known in the sporting world. His sons, Tommy, Lewie, Rocco and Joe, are all established in boxing, football and golf. Lewie, 26, plays as right back for Hull FC.

But Chris wasn't only known for the sporting endeavours of his sons – his pride and joy – but for his own reputation as a city centre stall holder, larger than life character and sometimes social media celebrity. He passed away at the age of 59, just weeks short of a massive 60th birthday surprise celebration the family had planned.

Chris was laid to rest at the large crematorium on Chanterlands Avenue on Monday.

Born and raised in Hull, the former Sutton Park resident and local window cleaner first came to prominence locally in 1989 as a bodybuilder who claimed the Mr Hull title, winning in the same year his first son Tommy was born. Life as a market stall trader and fruit and veg shop owner soon followed as Coyle and Sons was born.

With no funeral cars, no hearse and no mourning attire, the Coyle family were determined to make sure Chris is remembered and honoured in a fashion which befits his endearing personality.
