The peaceful taxi driver protest planned in Leeds this week over the council's 'Suitability and Convictions Policy' has been cancelled as a union says its demands have been met.
GMB Union were meant to hold the demonstrate outside Leeds Civic Hall, in Millenium Square, tomorrow (Wednesday) from 12pm to 2pm.
The strike comes after Leeds Taxi and Private Hire Organisation (LPHDO) continue to protest against the Suitability and Convictions policy.

The union will be calling for a full review of the Suitability criteria for taxi drivers and the campaign is also calling for "better deals for taxi drivers."
GMB Union Tweeted this evening to say the protest had been cancelled.
They said: "Agreement has been reached with Leeds City Council, as well as Kirklees & Wakefield, that meets campaign objectives re: licensing policies & GMB fair licensing charter. We will consult with members - demo is off."
The Suitability and Convictions policy was introduced in February 2020 by Leeds City Council but a number of concerns have been raised about it by taxi drivers - which had drivers worried they could loose their lisences.
In the past, the group has protested against the council’s 'six-point policy' that could see drivers suspended if they get more than six points on their license.
