A Leeds tattoo artist has made a nude calendar featuring woman who have suffered with breast cancer.
Kate Challinor, 43, has been tattooing over breast cancer survivors' surgical scars for the past couple of years for free. Wanting to do more to support a Yorkshire cancer charity, she got 12 of them together to create a nude calendar.
The Kippax woman has helped cover over 25 women’s scarring and said she wasn’t sure how they’d feel about putting themselves on show. But in the end they had the 'biggest laugh' making it.

Kate said: “We did have a couple people that queried it and got a bit anxious about it but then everybody came through with it. The mood was fantastic, it was the biggest laugh.
"We had these 12 half-naked ladies there all trying to get ready with hair and makeup and have their photograph taken. There was a real sense of comradery between them as well.
“Just having them meet each other was a lovely thing. This is all about showing their journey and all of them went through the same thing. They don’t always get to meet people and share what they’ve been through.”
Kate spent months editing and constructing the calendar. The calendar features pictures of the woman with their tattooed breasts on show, along with a message about their journey with the disease.
Kate said: “It was amazing for the ladies because they had a lot of self confidence issues about the scarring that was left and it’s been really empowering for them, and so positive for them to actually stand there and have their photograph taken and feel good about themselves.”
Money made from calendars, which are being sold for £10 each, will be going towards Pontefract and District Breast Cancer Support Group. The group is run by Rachel Brown, who’s the January model, who has been praised by Kate as an “amazing lady” for all the hard work she does to support people who’ve suffered with the deadly illness.
Kate was so inspired by Rachel’s work, she’s set up the ‘Inkredible Foundation’ as she continues her work in the coming year. If you want to purchase a calendar, you can do so via Kate’s business page on Facebook here.
