Leeds United are plotting a move for James Garner in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
Having spent last season on loan in the Championship, the Manchester United midfielder returned to Nottingham Forest during the summer and continues to impress. He celebrated his 21st birthday with victory over Reading last weekend and Forest remain on course for the play-offs.
Moving forward, the player is expected to be handed an opportunity in the Premier League next season. Given the problems United have had in their engine room, that opportunity might even come at Old Trafford.

However, should United sign Declan Rice or any of their other midfield targets, academy graduate Garner might be allowed to pursue another temporary switch, and The Sun report that Leeds have entered the fray as potential suitors. Their chances of signing Garner could hinge on whether they can secure their Premier League status this season.
Elsewhere, reports in The Sun suggest United are keen to sell Dean Henderson this summer. Having displaced David de Gea last season, the England goalkeeper has struggled for game-time and wants to see more first-team action with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on the horizon. Henderson has only played three matches this season for United; one in the FA Cup, one in the Carabao Cup and one in the Champions League.
The 25-year-old previously spent time on loan with Grimsby, Shrewsbury and Sheffield United. Henderson saw possible moves blocked by Ralf Rangnick during the January window but, moving forward, there is apparently genuine interest to grant him a transfer and replace him with Sam Johnstone.

Dutch side Ajax and Newcastle were among those credited with mid-season interest. There would be no shortage of takers for Henderson should he push for a move away from Old Trafford.
