Leeds Rhinos supporters split on Kruise Leeming departure as exit looms

There has been a huge reaction to the news of Kruise Leeming's Leeds Rhinos departure, with the hooker set to depart Headingley.

Rugby League Live broke the news that Leeming has been granted permission to pursue opportunities elsewhere after discussions in recent weeks, with the hooker also left out of the squad to face Castleford Tigers. Supporters of all clubs have been quick to have their say on the matter, with supporters from both Wigan Warriors and Hull FC both calling on their clubs to make a move for the 27-year-old.

"Would absolutely love it if Wigan made a move for him," Danny Bam said on Twitter. Michael Lavelle added: "Radlinski and Lenagan had better be doing 108mph across the M62 right now."

From West Hull, Brandon Dawson posted: "Houghton and Lovodua out, Leeming in" While Ian Hinchliffe added: "Hull fc should definitely look at this."

From a Leeds Rhinos perspective, fans appeared to be very divided on the developments. Lee Townson posted: "How can we let Kruise Leeming leave it doesn't make sense? The only player in the dream team. What are we doing?" Adam Tate agreed: "Wow. That changes our prospects massively." @OriginalHobson added: "If that's true I don't understand it, I personally really like him."

Others, however, were on the other side of the debate. "I’m actually ok with this," Carl Murphy said. "He’s a good player but maybe not as good as he thinks he is. We do need to replace with an explosive hooker though. Shame Dwyer has already left."

Josh Jackson added: "Shocked, but he's massively under performed since he got made captain." Tom Caulton added: "It’s a shame if true. He’s a very good hooker and a pretty good stand in half but it must be said, we look sharper with O’Connor at hooker."

Perhaps the most diplomatic response came from Ian, who said: "Given age & playing reputation, makes sense for Kruise. Had a strong start for us but developments with Jarrod & with captaincy have made it clear that he wasn’t the kind of hooker that Rohan favoured. A good lad, wish him all the best. Maybe will even bite us back at some point."
