Leeds Rhinos set to suffer another length ban as forward cops major charge

Leeds Rhino prop Muizz Mustapha is facing a potentially hefty ban after being sent off during a recent reserve game. The incident happened during the Rhinos' home defeat to Warrington Wolves reserves at Headingley on Friday, May 27.

Leeds lost 20-16 and Mustapha was shown a red card for a dangerous throw on Ellis Longstaff in the 60th minute. The incident has been referred to the Tribunal on Tuesday but the Grade E charge carries a normal punishment of between a four to eight-game ban.

Meanwhile, Hull FC prop Scott Taylor has been banned by the RFL's Disciplinary Panel for one match and will therefore miss the clubs trip to Catalans this Saturday evening. Taylor has been charged with a Grade B offence for dangerous contact in the fourth minute of Sunday's defeat to Wakefield, in an incident that saw Reece Lyne helped off the field.

No other Hull players received bans, but Josh Reynolds was cited twice for shoulder charges. Hull KR hooker Matt Parcell is free to face St Helens on Sunday after escaping a ban for grade A dangerous contact. Saints, however, will be without back-rower Sione Mata'utia after he was given a two-game suspension for a similar offence. The ban means Mata'utia will sit out the clash with Leeds Rhinos at the Totally Wicked Stadium on June 23.

Brother Peter Mata'utia has also been charged with grade B dangerous contact, although he will only miss one match for Warrington Wolves - Sunday's date with Wakefield at Belle Vue. Castleford Tigers centre Mahe Fonua has avoided punishment for kicking out at Liam Farrell in the defeat by Wigan Warriors, with the yellow card deemed sufficient.
