Leeds restaurant run by Masterchef star named best fine dining in England

Masterchef finalist Jonathan 'Jono' Hawthorne's Leeds restaurant has been judged the best in England.

Chef Jono at V&V , New Briggate, scooped Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year at the Food Awards England 2022, this week. Jono, who trained at top restaurants in Denmark and Australia, and Ilkley's famous Box Tree, made it to the finals of Masterchef: The Professionals in 2020 although he didn't win.

After Masterchef, the Yorkshireman reopened Vice and Virtue under his own name serving inventive, international fusion dishes, including octopus with lychee, peanut and coriander. The restaurant express its delight at the win yesterday.
