Disruption is expected across Leeds this weekend as the council has urged people to plan ahead.
With a number of big events taking place across the city - including a women’s international friendly and a cricket test match in Headingley - lots of people will be making their way into Leeds over the weekend. However, this has coincided with the rail strikes which are set to start up again on Saturday alongside the ongoing Arriva bus strikes.
Leeds City Council has therefore issued advice on how to travel into the city. First, they recommend making use of the park and ride system which is in place in a number of locations around Leeds.

This includes the park and rides at Elland Road, Temple Green and Stourton. If you want more information on this scheme, click here.
If you do not know how to get to your destination, you can try using Moovit which will tell you the different routes you can take to get to your destination. Alternatively, if you have to drive, then the council recommends you avoid the centre of the city by using routes like Junctions 2 or 4 of the M621 instead of Junction 3.
The council also recommends either cycling or walking into the city if it is at all possible.
If you want to attend the cricket match in Headingley over the weekend, special services have been set up to make this travel easier. Yorkshire County Cricket Club has set up a park and ride system from Beckett’s Park.
There is also an additional parking facility at Cinder and Monument Moor with bus routes to Headingley.
