A Leeds man who lost his mum to cancer is now sleeping rough on the streets, crying himself to sleep at night.
James Nye, 26, spoke of how his mum died in March after a year long battle with the deadly disease. He was unable to remain on his mum’s tenancy and his life ever since spiralled, after being served an eviction notice, he claims.
The Beeston man was lying across a bed of flowers outside of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Leeds city centre at about noon on a weekday, when LeedsLive spoke to him. He lay crumpled up in a sleeping bag, lying on his chest with his bearded unkempt face planted centimetres away from the flower bed.
