A Leeds car dealership has issued a statement offering its condolences following the tragic death of a woman and child in Leeds on Monday.
Police were called to a report that a white Audi had crashed into the wall of the Vertu Jaguar Leeds car dealership in Scott Hall Road at around 8.30am. A woman and a child were tragically hit by the car as they were walking by during the school run.
Both were found injured at the scene and sadly pronounced dead a short time later. The driver of the car is under arrest and was taken to hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.

The dealership has paid tribute to the woman and child, offering their "thoughts and prayers" to everyone affected by the tragic news. A spokesperson for Vertu Leeds Jaguar Land Rover said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this horrific incident."
West Yorkshire Police are appealing for information from witnesses and those with dashcam footage following the crash. The A61 remains closed at the time of writing while investigation work is carried out.
Detective Inspector Paul Conroy, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “This is an absolutely tragic incident and we are working to support the family of the woman and child involved. We have already spoken to a number of witnesses but are keen to speak to anyone else who has witnessed the collision itself or the events leading up to it. We would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time of this collision to check their dashcam footage.”
