With a yellow weather warning for snow in place across much of the UK, it is no surprise that we are feeling the temperature drop. This week is certainly set to be a chilly one, despite Yorkshire narrowly avoiding the yellow warning.
However, despite not being under the warning area, the Met Office have predicted that parts of our county could still see some snowfall, particularly on higher ground. Leeds looks set to remain dry and clear, but it will be a cold week so you will need to wrap up warm.
Today, the yellow weather warning is in force for northern Scotland, Northern Ireland, Liverpool and parts of Wales. The warning remains in place for these areas tomorrow, with south west England also being included.

By Wednesday, the warning has been removed for all areas except northern Scotland. But, despite being outside of the warning zone, the Met Office have still warned that Yorkshire could be at risk of some dangerous weather, with cold and ice forecast.
Today and tonight's forecast says: "Cloudy with wintry showers initially, with some snow settling across higher ground, and perhaps to lower levels at times. Showers clear south around midday to leave a cold and sunny afternoon, with temperatures dipping below freezing in places. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

"A very cold night ahead with clear skies throughout. Temperatures will drop below freezing across the region with a sharp frost expected, as well as a risk of icy patches. Minimum temperature -4 °C."
The weather experts have predicted that "very cold conditions" are expected to continue throughout this week in Yorkshire. And they have also warned that there is a risk of continued frosts and ice, so you may need to take it steady on the roads this week.
The forecast for Leeds this week shows that it will be dry, but bitterly cold with temperatures dropping to lows of -2°C. Today until Thursday will be non-stop sunshine, so that will at least brighten up the bitter days.
The sunshine will make way for some cloud towards the end of the week, with Saturday being overcast. Sunday will be cloudy but dry and both days will see temperature lows of 5°C, so much warmer than this week.
