Leeds Festival boss Melvin Benn has been rather cheeky when telling us what to expect for next year’s event.
Melvin Benn, managing director of Festival Republic, who oversee Leeds Festival and its sister event Reading Festival, spared a few minutes to talk to LeedsLive on site at Bramham Park. As well as discussing his highlights from this year we also pressed him about what we can expect from Leeds Festival 2023.
As sometimes, Melvin has tended to give clues and teasers about big name bookings. He teased us a little this time around.

“Yeah, we are going to Leeds Festival on August bank holiday weekend next year. It is decided! I’ve just decided because you’ve asked me.”
Big news, we are sure you would agree. Of course, we'll add a little meat to the bones for next year's plans when we know more.
On this year, Melvin told us his faves from Leeds Festival and sister event Reading Festival. He said: “Ironically, I was really looking forward to seeing Rage. Beyond that, it is impossible for me not to be talking about the Arctics (Monkeys) and Bring Me The Horizon as I’m a Yorkshire lad.
“I wanted to see Dave play Reading more than anything. I know I’m a lot older than anyone in the world but I’m a Dave fan. I like him, I like what he does, I like what he says and what he stands for. I love it. I think he’s the voice. He’s an incredible spokesperson for his generation.”
