The owner of a new Guiseley coffee shop says he’s “thrilled” after being given the go-ahead to host wine tasters and martini-making sessions.
Muthadi Anwaar Alleyne opened Office Saloon on Oxford Street in the town in March. Now the shop been granted an alcohol licence by Leeds City Council, which Mr Alleyne says will give the business further “momentum” and make it a pillar of the Guiseley community.
The council’s environmental health unit had objected to the licence being given over fears late-night noise would disturb nearby residents. But at a hearing on Tuesday, Mr Alleyne insisted his offering would not be “party” orientated and would instead be led by events such as taster sessions and distilling classes.
